Message Board and E-mail Forum

   A Web Message Board has been established to continue the important dialogue on the education of APA students, and to provide opportunities for networking.  Messages on the Web Board can be read on-line, and can also be recieved as E-mail.

    The first time you visit the Web Board, you will need to create a User Profile with a Log-in Name and Password.  The Instructions below will guide you through this simple process.  You may want to print out this page first as a reference.

    We highly recommend using the E-mail option.  This way you can easily read and reply to messages posted from other APA Educators from within the comforts of your own e-mail program.  You can even post new messages to begin new topics of instruction.


INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Click on the following link: http://psrtec.clmer.csulb.edu/
2.  Click on the link "Online Discussion" to bring up the Login Page.
3.  Click on "New Users" to go to the New User Information Page.
4.  Fill in the form.  Use tab or your mouse to move between the boxes.  (Note:  Login name is the name that you will need to remember and enter each time you visit the board on the Web.  To keep things simple, it could just be your first name.  Likewise, be sure to remember you password)
5.  After entering all the information, click on the "Create" button.  This will take you to the message boards.
6.  On the left side of the screen are a list of (on-line) conferences.  The conference associated with this web site is the "Asian Pacific American Forum."  (Note: a number of APA educators have already began disscussions on two other conferences "3rd Annual Summer Technology Institute."  and "CABE-Institute."  You are invited to participate in these as well)
7.  To view topics within a conference, click a plus symbol (+) next to a conference name (or the conference name itself) in the frame to the left.
8.  From there, you will be able to click on individual messages to read, and each message will provide buttons to reply or to post a new message.

Participating via E-mail Option:
(Please enable the e-mail option.  This will make participating in discussions as easy as reading and replying to your e-mail.)

1.  Click the "More..." Button (black button along top of screen)
2.  Click on "Mailing Lists"
3.  Click on the box next to "Asian Pacific American Forum" and any other conference lists you would like (such as the CABE-Institute).  (Note:  if an option for the Asian Pacific American Forum does not appear, please check back later as it will be added shortly)
4.  Click the "Save" button.

Other E-mail option:
If you prefer to read, reply and post messages on the Message Board via the Web, you can receive e-mail notification when new messages have been posted to the Board.  To enable this option:

1.  Click the "More..." Button (black button along top of screen)
2.  Click on "E-mail Notify"
3.  Click the box next to "Asian Pacific American Forum" and any other conferences you are interested in.
4.  Click the "Save" button.
